We stumbled across The Old School House Kitchen after a Sunday morning stroll, what a lovely find! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and steeped in history, making it a perfect spot to relax. We had chicken burgers and carrot cake, both of which were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the charm of the place. The only small downside was that the flat whites we ordered were served lukewarm, but this didn’t put us off from returning. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back again! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy and characterful spot with great food.

A hidden gem! Beautiful location with delicious food. Ordered full english and decaf latte, both were scrumptious. My only criticism is that the scrambled egg lacked flavour, but other than that- no complaints! Cosy feel but still plenty of space, I could wonder round looking at all the memorabilia for hours. Can’t wait for a visit in the summer to sit outside!

First time visiting today, beautiful location and delicious food. We ordered a beef brisket sandwich and corn beef pie with a side of fries. The brisket beef was lovely, soft and flavoursome. Also had a caramel iced latte and banana milkshake, both great! Will definitely be returning as the menu had plenty of choice, and the cakes also looked yummy. Friendly service

A beautiful place that served gluten free cake which was utterly delicious. I was with a friend and there was plenty of time to sit and chat in lovely surroundings.

Had lovely mince and dumplings with a side of vegetables. Served quickly and with a smile, despite the fact that seventeen of us arrived at the same time whilst out on a seven mile country walk, all ordering different things.

First time we went today and food was absolutely beautiful. My wife had a Baked Potato and I had the Mince and Dumpling. Both meals were really tasty and the service was brilliant. Will definitely be back.

Looking for a new coffee stop for the cycling group and found the old school house. Ample space for bikes, outdoor seating, and great coffee and scones. A hidden gem and will be back with the group in a couple of weeks

First visit today and thoroughly enjoyed it. We walked along from South Hylton expecting sandwiches and light bites and were over the moon that they were serving Sunday Lunch. Incredible value for money, will definitely be going back. Lovely food and great service.
